Looks Good, Sounds Broken

A button without an accessible name, a modal that traps keyboard users, an error message that provides no guidance. These issues are often invisible in visual design but create significant barriers for people using assistive technologies. What appears to work well on the surface can present a very different experience to screen reader users. This talk examines the gap between what is designed and built, and how it is actually interpreted by assistive technology.
