Description
Each year, U.S. universities welcome thousands of international students, offering them access to exceptional education. Yet, language barriers can hinder understanding and detract from the overall learning experience.
To combat this challenge, integrating accessibility solutions like translation tools, immersive readers, and captioning into digital platforms can make content more inclusive and boost student engagement. These resources enable international students to process and interact with course materials through various methods, significantly enhancing their learning capabilities.
In this presentation by the University of Central Oklahoma's Digital Accessibility team, Darren Denham, Assistant Director of Digital Accessibility, and Roshna Lamichhane, Digital Accessibility Graduate Assistant, will delve into the vital importance of digital accessibility in overcoming language barriers for international students. They will also share practical and effective strategies to improve accessibility.
