Your storytelling network is already on campus: How to activate creators, advocates and collaborators
Tuesday, September 15, 2026, 2:45 PM - 3:30 PM CDT
Higher education content teams need to support more channels, tell more stories and demonstrate greater impact, often without more staff, time or budget. But an institution’s storytelling capacity does not end with the marketing office. Faculty, staff, students and leaders already have the expertise, access and trusted voices audiences want.
The challenge is activating those voices without scripting their stories, overwhelming them or losing strategic alignment.
In this session, you'll learn a practical framework for moving from a centralized content model to a campuswide storytelling network. Through three participation models — Campus Creators, Campus Advocates and Campus Collaborators — you’ll learn how to:
- Identify the right people.
- Build buy-in.
- Create appropriate guardrails.
- Provide support.
- Measure impact.
You’ll leave with practical steps for launching a small pilot and a new understanding of marketing’s evolving role: not only producing content, but also helping people across the institution tell their stories well.
