David founded NewCity in 1995 after creating Radford University's first website in 1994, and has spent his career helping organizations apply human-centered design to complex digital challenges. He specializes in stakeholder engagement, user research design, service blueprinting, journey mapping and facilitating design sprints that turn insights into actionable solutions. He leads discovery and strategy on select projects each year, ensuring NewCity's research approach is grounded in evidence rather than assumption.
David has led digital strategy and architecture for organizations including U.S. Transportation Command, the University of Virginia, Imperial College London, Indiana University and the National Science Teachers Association. He is a regular conference speaker on human-centered design and content strategy in higher education and complex organizations.
