Ella Danilovich is a senior web developer at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she supports institutional websites, digital strategy and web governance initiatives across research and administrative units. She has worked in higher education IT for more than 20 years, focusing on website management, content systems, accessibility and user support in complex university environments.
Throughout her career, Ella has led digital projects that require collaboration across decentralized teams, balancing technical implementation with communication, training and stakeholder engagement. Much of her leadership experience developed through mentoring colleagues and supporting staff as they build confidence working within digital platforms and processes.
Ella currently serves in a mentorship leadership role within Toastmasters and has been an active member for the past three years. Through this work, she has helped create structured mentoring relationships that support professional growth, feedback practices and communication development.
She is also a doctoral student in the Ed.D. in leadership program at Virginia Commonwealth University. Her academic work focuses on leadership development and workplace learning in higher education administrative settings, with particular interest in how supervision, mentorship and organizational culture shape employee experience.
Ella is especially interested in how leadership develops among higher education IT professionals who lead through preparation, listening and steady follow-through rather than visibility or hierarchy.
