Walker Winslow Stephenson is the program coordinator at UNC Global Affairs. He has served in this role since 2023. Walker supports UNC Global Affairs with event planning and logistics, and he provides administrative support to the associate provost for global affairs. Walker organizes the annual Faculty Awards for Global Excellence submission process and reception; provides photography and videography services for the office; arranges logistics for international exchange and sponsored programs; and manages several operations for the FedEx Global Education Center, including visitor parking, room reservations and technology needs.

Walker is also a doctoral student studying media and communication at the Hussman School of Journalism and Media at UNC-Chapel Hill. His research focuses on media, emerging technology and disinformation in Eastern Europe. Before returning to Carolina, Walker was a digital content associate at the Diplomatic Security Service at the U.S. Department of State. He managed global media campaigns and advised staff on digital content strategies. He was also a graduate teaching fellow at the Hussman School, where he taught audio and video editing skills, how to use and interpret data visualizations and the fundamentals of building websites. Previously, he completed an internship in L'viv, Ukraine, and studied Russian language in Chisinau, Moldova.

Walker earned his bachelor's degree from North Carolina State University and his master's degree from Carolina. In graduate school, he received the Outstanding Master's Graduate in Media and Communication award and earned a certificate in International Peace and Conflict Transformation. He has presented his research on disinformation, narrative-building and political campaigns at multiple conferences and symposia.
