Description
In this talk, we'll review the core technology that underlies all LLMs, as well as some differences between some specific LLMs out there. We'll also explore the technical ideas behind some recent concepts of interest around LLMs from the past couple of years, namely, retrieval augmented generation and "agentic" AI. Finally, we'll use our discussion of how these technologies work to examine what that implies for our potential uses of these technologies within higher education, as well as some thing to watch this research space for over the next few years.
